The capital city, Panaji, has a very important place in the daily life of people who live in Panaji and elsewhere in Goa.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;  Panaji is the place for all government administration related activities. The Kadamba Bus Stand and the Panaji Market area are tthe most attractivve placce for all business man and their clients. The Chritian missionarie from Portugal came to India and they lives and worked in India for all these time period. Old Goa is famous for its historical monuments. The St. Francis Church and The Archeaolgical Museum in the opposite side of the Church are the main attractions in Old Goa.&lt;br /&gt;  &lt;br /&gt;     The St. Francis Church is located in Old Goa, which is about 6 to 8 kms from Panaji city. The Church was bulit during the time of Portuguese. The physical body of St. Francis is kept in a glass box in the church, and visitors can see it from a distance. During the Feast Festival in December first week every year, thousands of people from all religions visit the church. The Festival is known among people as "Old Goa Feast". Every Ten years the body of St. Francis is kept open for public visit.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;        The Archeaological Museum on the other side of the Church, is having various painings, weapons, monumental aniques of Portuguese times. Archeaological Survey of India has done some renovation work of the buliding and the painings and sculptures in order to preserve the historical content and originality of the monuments.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;  The Ancient Temple in Ponda, suh as Mangueshi Temple and Mahalasa temple are very famous and attracts many devotees from India and abroad. The temple preserve the historical originality and heritage of India. The beaches in Goa are world famous due to its immense popularity. North Goan Beaches are more famous than south Goan Beaches. But some of the South Go Beaches do have its own individuality and regular visitors.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;   Colva Beach, Palolem Beach and Benaulim Beach are the most important ones. The Colva beach is situated about three to four kms from the Margao city. The Colva Beach is a very peacefull and calm beach and the night restaurants are active along the main road towards te beach. The small stream flowing neat the beach and the small park and the bridge over the small stream is also very attractivve in Colva Beach. Te International travellers prefer rented appartments in Colva and they get it on very cheap price, though it is high compared to the local tourists.&lt;br /&gt;  The nearest railway station is Margao Railway Station and the International airport in Dabolim is about 30 kms from the beach side. The taxis are available on rent and also self drive cars are available for cheaper rate. Homestays are having both air conditioned and non-air conditioned and also avaliable with self cooking facilities and swimming pools.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;  Both Benaulim and Palolem beaches are situated further south of Margao and are also very important beaches. The tourist season in Goa starts from 1st of October and ends by 31 May and rarely extends to second week of June to few people.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;   The most important beaches in North Goa are Calangute, Baga, Candolim, Sinquerim, Anjuna, Vagator and Arambol. There few other beaches which are also very important, like Dona Paula and Miramar beaches in Panaji City.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;   Calangute Beach is located about 35 kms from Dabolim International Airport and 35 kms from Margao Railway station. The nearest railway station is Thivim Railway station. The Calangute beach is the first and the most important beach for a traveller and from they move to any other place. Calangute beaches are famous for the sun bathers, beach side shacks, boat cruise in the coastal waters, parachute safari drawn by the moving speed boats (the most iportant and attractive item in peak summer, between December to May), lovely night restaurants, etc.  The hotels in Calangute are in different categories like two to five star.
